Summary

A 65-year-old man with a smoking history of 45 years presented with progressive dyspnea and dysphonia of 1-year duration. Fiber-optic examination showed a sub-mucosal transglottic tumor with glottic stenosis. CT scans revealed a laryngeal tumor that involved the left glottic plane and the cricoid measuring 3.5 × 3 cm. No involvement of the cervical lymph nodes was evidenced clinically and in the imaging studies. Due to the tumor extension and the obstruction of the airways, a total laryngectomy was performed.
