Summary

A 49-year-old otherwise healthy woman noticed a painless swelling of the pharyngeal mucosa. On examination, thickened, pale mucosa was found in the oropharynx (Figure 1A) and in the posterior part of the larynx between arytenoids (Figure 1B). Incisional biopsy was performed. Following the biopsy diagnosis, clinical examination was performed which did not reveal evidence of a systemic disease.
