Summary
Then Joseph could not refrain himself so as not to weep before all them that stood by him; and he said, ‘Cause every man to go out from me’. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.
(These verses follow the Hebrew, except that verse 4 adds, ‘Come near to me, I pray you, and see the place of my circumcision’; and verse 5 changes ‘to preserve life’ to ‘to establish you’.)
‘So now it was not you that sent me hither, but the event was brought about before the Lord, and he hath made me a lord to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.’
(These verses follow the Hebrew, except that verse 12 adds, ‘… that speaketh unto you in the language of the Temple’.)
And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept because the Temple was going to be built in the portion of Benjamin, and was going to be destroyed twice; and Benjamin wept upon Joseph's neck because he saw that the Tabernacle of Shiloh was going to be in the portion of Joseph, and was going to be destroyed.
And he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them because he saw that they would be brought into servitude among the nations: and after that his brethren talked with him.
