Summary
This is the book of the genealogy of the generations of Adam. In the day that the Lord created Adam, in the likeness of the Lord made he him;
male with female parts created he them; and blessed them in the name of his word, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat Seth who resembled his likeness and his appearance. For before that time, Eve had borne Cain who was not from him (Adam) and did not resemble him, and Abel was killed at the hands of Cain, and Cain was cast out, and his descendants were not recorded in the book of the genealogy of Adam. And after that there was born one who resembled him, and he called his name Seth.
These verses, recording the line of descent from Adam to Enoch, appear in Ps. Jon. as in the Hebrew text, and are therefore not reproduced here.)
And Enoch served before the Lord in uprightness after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
and all the days of Enoch with the dwellers on earth were three hundred sixty and five years:
and Enoch served before the Lord in uprightness, and, behold, he was not with the dwellers on earth, for he was withdrawn and went up to the firmament by the word before the Lord, and his name was called Metatron the great scribe.
