Liposarcomas of the larynx are very rare. Only nine cases appear to have been recorded in the English literature.

An additional case of liposarcoma of the larynx occurring in a young patient is reported and the relevant literature discussed.

The presentation, histology and management of a pseudosarcoma (or polypoid carcinoma) of the oesophagus are presented. Historical and modern theories of pathogenesis are discussed. Though rare, ENT surgeons should be aware of these tumours, as patients with such tumours present early and potentially have a much better prognosis than those with the more common oesophageal malignancies.

Primary nasopharyngeal involvement with Hodgkin's Disease (HD) is a rare event. Most such cases are associated with other sites of involvement. In this paper we present a case of State 1 HD in the nasopharynx and review the literature.

We described a 67-year-old man who had a right jugular foramen tumour expanding extracranially to the level of C2 cervical body. Paralysis of the glossopharyngeal, vagal, accessory, hypoglossal nerves and sensorineural hearing disturbance were found. The tumour originated from the accessory nerve and the histological examination revealed it was schwannoma. Accessory nerve as an origin of the jugular foramen neurinoma and its pre-operative neurological signs are reviewed.

SotradecolR—sodium tetradecyl sulfate—is a selerosing agent which has been used for years in the treatment of varicose veins, haemorrhoids and haemangiomata. Two cases of large haemangioma of the cheek are presented. Becuase surgical treatment posed many difficulties we decided to treat with sodium tetradecylsulfate. Treatment was successful.

The toothbrush is an unusual foreign body in ENT practice. Three cases of toothbrushes are presented.

A 42-year-old man presented with a two-week history of right-sided otalgia, deafness and nocturnal tinnitus. Examination revealed a black mass on the posterior meatal wall. Two years before presentation, he had a malignant melanoma removed from the left hip region. Biopsy of the lesion in the posterior canal wall and another which had developed within two weeks on the anterior wall, confirmed metastatic disease. Treatment with radiotherapy and later chemotherapy were unsuccessful and the patient died 15 months later.

Accessory salivary gland tissue is well recognized and is found in 21 per cent of the population. Tumours of the accessory salivary tissue are rare and comprise only 1 per cent of all parotid gland tumours.

A pleomorphic adenoma of Stensen's duct is described. A circular constriction of this duct by the tumour with retention of saliva in the parotid gland was observed.

Abstract A rare case of a symptomatic venous anomaly of the parotid gland is described in a 14-year-old female patient who presented with Turkey Wattle sign. A definitive diagnosis of this disorder requires venographic studies. Surgical treatment was successful, with a follow-up of four years.

A case of embryonal (botryoid) rhabdomyosarcoma of the nasopharynx originally occurring in a two year old male, with late recurrence in the neck 20 years after treatment by combined surgery and radiotherapy is presented. The histological diagnosis of rhabdomyosarcoma, and the significance of late recurrence are discussed.
