Summary
This chapter provides guidance on teaching professional ethics in obstetrics and gynecology.
The first long-term goal of teaching professional ethics in obstetrics and gynecology is that, by the conclusion of residency training, these basics have become guides to the obstetrician-gynecologist in all aspects of patient care, in clinical innovation and research, organizational culture, and in advocating for women’s and children’s health policy. The second long-term goal of teaching professional ethics in obstetrics and gynecology is to sustain the professionalism of medical students, residents, fellows, practicing physicians, and clinical innovators and researchers.
