[? 19.2.43/4.] There is in Hillesden House 160 men and 40 women. They have no great gun there. They carried Capt. Shelborne to Oxford on Saturday and 22 soldiers with him. Their intent is to pillage Stewkley on Tuesday. They have summoned the country to come in to help keep the garrison, and all men that refuse must send in 30s. a man. H.C. (A.130.)

19.2.43/4. They say at Hillesden House that they have 300 foot besides their horse, that the trenches are not above 160 pole round and not half finished. They go every way except the quarter towards Claydon. The country come in very slow to work. They sent Capt. Shelborne to Oxford next day with 20 prisoners and 30 horse. They have made a piece of elm in the likeness of a piece of ordnance, which lies in the cellar. E. East. (A.130.)

20.2.43/4. This day he came from Tingewick. There they report that on Friday last there came 200 foot soldiers more to Hillesden House. Col. West is governor of Chesterton and there are 200 dragoons. Sanders and 12 of his troopers quartered there last night and intend on Saturday next to plunder Stony Stratford because that town brings not in their money that it was taxed with.
