The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the development of decentralized clinical trials (DCT). DCT’s are an important and pragmatic method for assessing health outcomes yet comprise only a minority of clinical trials, and few published methodologies exist. In this report, we detail the operational components of COVID-OUT, a decentralized, multicenter, quadruple-blinded, randomized trial that rapidly delivered study drugs nation-wide. The trial examined three medications (metformin, ivermectin, and fluvoxamine) as outpatient treatment of SARS-CoV-2 for their effectiveness in preventing severe or long COVID-19. Decentralized strategies included HIPAA-compliant electronic screening and consenting, prepacking investigational product to accelerate delivery after randomization, and remotely confirming participant-reported outcomes. Of the 1417 individuals with the intention-to-treat sample, the remote nature of the study caused an additional 94 participants to not take any doses of study drug. Therefore, 1323 participants were in the modified intention-to-treat sample, which was the a priori primary study sample. Only 1.4% of participants were lost to follow-up. Decentralized strategies facilitated the successful completion of the COVID-OUT trial without any in-person contact by expediting intervention delivery, expanding trial access geographically, limiting contagion exposure, and making it easy for participants to complete follow-up visits. Remotely completed consent and follow-up facilitated enrollment.

The Critically Endangered Chapman's pygmy chameleon Rhampholeon chapmanorum is endemic to the low elevation rainforest of the Malawi Hills in southern Malawi. Much of this forest has been converted to agriculture and it was uncertain whether chameleon populations have persisted. We used current and historical satellite imagery to identify remaining forest patches and assess deforestation. We then surveyed forest patches for the presence of this chameleon, and assessed its genetic diversity and structure. We estimated that 80% of the forest has been destroyed since 1984, although we found extant populations of the chameleon in each of the patches surveyed. Differentiation of genetic structure was strong between populations, suggesting that gene flow has been impaired. Genetic diversity was not low, but this could be the result of a temporal lag as well as lack of sensitivity in the mitochondrial marker used. Overall, the impact of forest loss is assumed to have led to a large demographic decline, with forest fragmentation preventing gene flow.

Data mining is an iterative process in which progress is defined by discovery through either automatic or manual methods. A data cleaning procedure is proposed to improve the quality of classification tasks in the knowledge discovery process by taking into account both redundant and conflicting data. The redundancy check is performed on the original dataset and the resultant dataset is preserved. This resultant dataset is then checked for conflicting data and, if any are found, they are corrected and updated on the original aircraft dataset. This updated dataset is then classified using a variety of classifiers such as Bayes, functions, lazy, MISC, rules and decision trees. The performance of the updated datasets on these classifiers is examine, and the result shows a significant improvement in the classification accuracy after redundancy and conflicts are removed. The conflicts after correction are updated in the original dataset, and when the performance of the classifier is evaluated, great improvement is observed. This paper aims to address how data mining techniques can be used to understand complex system accidents in the aviation domain. Decision trees are considered to be the one of the most powerful and popular approaches in knowledge discovery and data mining. The objective is to develop a classification model for aviation risk investigation and reduction using a decision tree induction method that enhances the ability to form decision trees and thereby proves that the classification accuracy of decision trees is greater. Different feature selectors are used in this study in order to reduce the number of initial attributes.

Summary
INTRODUCTION
The relationship between primate social group size and ecological factors has been a focal point of numerous theoretical and empirical research efforts (van Schaik & van Hooff 1983; Terborgh & Janson 1986; Chapman et al. 1995; Janson & Goldsmith 1995; Chapman & Chapman 2000). An increase in group size may confer benefits of increased protection from predation or infanticide, and/or increased effectiveness in intergroup competition (Wrangham 1980; van Schaik & van Hooff 1983; Sterck et al. 1997; Boesch & Boesch-Achermann 2000). Furthermore, individuals may prefer to associate with others to build coalitions (Boesch & Boesch-Achermann 2000), or to facilitate the socialization of offspring (Williams et al., Chapter 14).14). However, the benefits of sociality come at the cost of an increase in intragroup foraging competition and an increase in traveling between food patches (Chapman et al. 1995; Janson & Goldsmith 1995). Consequently, the ecological constraints model predicts that the size of primate social groups should have an upper limit that is determined by the abundance and distribution of food (Chapman & Chapman 2000).
Chimpanzees and other primates that live in fission–fusion social organizations have been the focus of efforts to understand better how group size is constrained by ecological factors. In these societies, individuals form parties that change in size and composition many times a day (Goodall 1986; Boesch 1996). Substantial empirical evidence suggests that party sizes are correlated with patch size (Symington 1988; Strier 1989; de Moraes & de Carvalho 1998; Newton-Fisher et al. 2000), and that seasonal variations in party sizes are related to seasonal fluctuations in the habitat-wide abundance and distribution of food (Chapman et al. 1995).

Summary
The fall of the Berlin Wall and the unification of East and West Germany have been at the heart of the wave of democratization that swept East Central Europe in the 1990s. They also marked the beginning of a new and difficult era of postwar German politics. Policy makers were suddenly charged with building a new political system and a viable economy in the eastern part of the newly united country, while East Germans instantly became citizens of a stable, well-functioning democracy and market economy. This chapter examines citizens' responses to these events. Specifically, we focus on economic conditions in East Germany after unification and how these affected popular support for the government. Based on monthly data for the period from 1991 to 1995, we trace the dynamics of public support for governing parties and their handling of the economy in East Germany. We seek to account for these dynamics with the help of theories developed in the research on economic voting and democratic transitions.
We first take a look back at the events leading up to and surrounding unification, as well as the economic and political situation in East and West Germany that resulted from it. These events provide the context in which we examine the relationship between economic conditions and government support and in which East Germans expressed opinions about the transition and the federal government.

The symbiotic star AG Draconis was observed by the HEAO-2 Imaging Proportional Counter (IPC) and found to be an unusually intense source of very soft X-rays.
