Summary
The Lebanon war of 1982 divided the country and the Jewish Diaspora. The conduct of both the political and military leadership led to the establishment of the Kahan Commission of Inquiry after the mass killings of Palestinians by Israel’s Phalangist allies in the refugee camps of Sabra and Shatilla in September.
