The procedure for nomination to the MRCPsych Board of Examiners was recently published in Psychiatric Bulletin (Tyrer, 1999). These have led to enquiry by Members and Fellows of the College about the criteria for appointment to other Committees and Panels that are under the aegis of the Examinations Department. Following discussion at the Examinations Sub-Committee the criteria for appointment of psychiatrists to the Panel of Observers, the Panels concerned with the development of questions for the Multiple Choice Papers in both Parts of the MRCPsych Examinations, the Critical Review Paper and the Essay Paper in Part II of the Examination and for Overseas Examiners, are indicated below.

When I reached Seychelles to start my new job with the Ministry of Health as a consultant psychiatrist at the Victoria Hospital I had hardly any idea about the islands, let alone its mental health service. But I decided to take the job partly out of curiosity and an interest to see what psychiatry would be on a tourist island in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

The College is aware of the Cyberanalysis clinic website and has been in contact with Dr Razzaque and his psychiatric tutor. We have agreed that the reference within the website to Dr Razzaque as being an Inceptor within the Royal College of Psychiatrists should be removed.

Sir: On the last evening of the Annual General Meeting in Birmingham a small group of intrepid golfers made their way beyond the M40 to the Forest of Arden Golf Course for the inaugural meeting of the Royal College Golf Society. With the addition of a very small number of interloping general practitioners we made up a multi-disciplinary band of 24 golfers all intent on a brief period of relaxation after the academic rigours of the meeting. Unfortunately we could not persuade the Continuing Professional Development office to offer us credits for sports psychology, so the altruism of all those who took part is to be applauded.
