Agricultural activity is determined by the simultaneous operation of four underlying exogenous forces, natural resources, markets, science and social values. All these forces have been changing and the UK agricultural industry, including not only farms but all the businesses involved in turning raw materials into food and other consumer products are compelled to adapt.
