CSF Biomarkers of Suicidal Behavior

This presentation will give an overview of CSF biomarkers related to suicidal behavior. First part will focus on studies on 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) as a biomarker of heightened suicide risk. The second part is about HPA-related CSF neuropeptides including also oxytocin in suicidal behaviour. Finally, the talk includes a short overview on CSF neuroinflammatory biomarkers and growth factors in suicide attempters. Confounders concerning CSF studies will be briefly mentioned.
