Many thanks for publishing the very recent article by Marion Kant, “German Gymnastics, Modern German Dance, and Nazi Aesthetics” (DRJ August 2016, pp. 4–25). I have read her other work and have valued it greatly. I think this article is very important and very well done. I hope it is widely read. It illuminates many important issues relating to Laban, Wigman, etc., and deals very well with the relationship of art and politics. There have been too many excuses about what these artists did in terms of their relationships with Nazi rule and intent.
