1 Mr. J. L. Myres informs the present writer that the Greeks in the country and in the islands are remarkable now for the way in which they spoil their children; and he makes the interesting suggestion that perhaps the poet wishes to represent Odysseus as the specially indulged child, which would give point to the reminiscence as a means of recognition.
