Constitutional Politics in Canada and the United States, Stephen L. Newman, ed., Albany: State University of New York Press, 2004, pp. vi, 282

Constitutional politics in Canada and the United States are staples of teaching and research in both countries, and accordingly merit periodic updating and reflection. An excellent contribution in this respect is Stephen Newman's edited collection of essays, published as part of SUNY's series on American constitutionalism. The essays are balanced, of fairly even quality, and diverse in both subject matter and ideological perspective.
