The Urn

Summary

Closing her eyes she wondered if

she could fit into the tiny gaps though nothing

could be fixed in this remoteness.

In this particular light under which she sits

she considers inbetweenness:

if she moved it slightly to the right

it would be closer to the daffodils.

Her arm hesitates and she wonders

what her father would do.

Before he'd left they'd make these leaps together,

instead she's here reimagining

his small hands, his finger-bones.
