Summary

This chapter presents a detailed analysis of the implications the teachings of these scholars have for the everyday choices that Muslims make. Drawing on their speeches and writings, the chapter shows that these scholars are able to offer moderate positions which enable these young Muslims to be proud Muslims and yet be active members of their society. These scholars are able to show how respect for secular state and engagement with modern day institutions does not have to come at the cost of one’s Islamic moral and legal commitments.
