Gérard Bardet Educated Louis le Grand, the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole des Mines. A founder of ‘X crise’. President of the CII and then secretary of the CSEIC.

Jacques Barnaud Educated Ecole Polytechnique. Inspecteur des Finances. Worked for Worms bank, 1928-39. Involved in Nouveaux Cahiers group. Head of cabinet of minister of labour, 21 July 1940 to 23 February 1941. Delegate-general for Franco-German relations from 18 April 1942.

René Belin Born 1898. Member of directing committee of CGT 1933. Minister of labour, 14 July 1940 to 23 February 1942.

Aymé Bernard Born 1893. Trained as lawyer at Lyon University. Delegate-general of AICA, 1920-44 and of the FAR. Treasurer of the CNE from 1936. Vicepresident of the CGPF, 1936–40. Member of the Conseil Supérieur de PEconomie Industrielle et Commerciale, 1941–44.

Jean Bichelonne Born 1904. Educated at Ecole Polytechnique (X grand major) and Ecole des Mines. Member of cabinet of minister of public works, 1 October 1937 to 12 March 1938. Head of cabinet of minister of armament, 14 September 1939 to 16 June 1940. Head of technical services at secretariat for industry, 16 June 1940 to 26 June 1940. Secretary-general for commerce and industry, 18 July 1940 to 23 April 1942. Secretary of state for industrial production from 23 April 1942. Minister of industrial production from 18 November 1942. Died 1945.

Yves Bouthillier Born 1901. Educated Ecole Centrale. Inspector des finances. Director-general of the budget, 1935. Director of finances for the department of the Seine, 1936-38. Secretary-general of finances from 1 November 1938. Minister of finances, 16 June 1940 to 18 April 1942.
