Summary

The Pocket Guide for Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery is a book that I initially wrote for myself. It is a compilation of what I needed to know as a resident, a Fellow and a young attending, but perhaps could not remember without a little assistance. That was my impetus for writing this book.

Behind every author are a host of supportive mentors who dedicated their time and efforts to his or her education. This project is no exception. The efforts of my mentors from my undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate training are all reflected within this book. Doctors Carter, Gresen, Walker, Stephens, Lesher, Davis, Kent and Cohen guided me from each turning point of life to the next.

This handbook is designed for health care providers with a knowledge base of dermatology. It is meant to guide you while you interact with patients in the clinical setting, whether reminding you which labs to check for methotrexate or which never to avoid before your next surgery. That is why I wrote it and I hope that you find it equally as useful.
