Summary

Here are some suggestions to help you start to discover information about new arrivals in your area.

There may be specific local/regional guides, for example Integration Works: the role of organisations in refugee integration in Yorkshire and the Humber (Brown, Walkey and Martin, 2020).

On a regional – and, in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, on a countrywide – level there are Strategic Migration Partnerships: ‘Strategic Migration Partnerships (SMPs) are local authority-led partnerships which provide structures and forums of engagement for effectively dealing with migration at a local, regional and national level. SMPs work to meet the needs of National and Local Governments, and local communities.’ (West Midlands Strategic Migration Partnership, 2021)
