Summary
This study aims to identify the potential effects of social networks, and attempts to determine the extent to which those effects will influence politics, economics, society, security and the media. Its importance stems from the extraordinary growth, expanding role, and increased influence of social networks, all of which are analyzed in order to determine the future development and consequences of this phenomenon. The societal manifestations of social networks are studied with a view to constructing future visions of their development that may inform the formulation of appropriate responses. The study poses several questions regarding: the limits of the role of social networks; potential means of dealing with their effects; areas that will be most affected by, and involved in the development of social networks; and the way in which social networks affect political interaction and social relations within countries. The study assumes that the significant effects of social networks will be felt in various fields, that common practices in media, politics, economy and social relations that have prevailed for decades will change, and that the relationship between the individual and the state will be fundamentally transformed. A different culture will materialize; talk about modernity and progress will not last for long; new concepts will emerge for a new era, which will be very different from the one that preceded it. These are the main aims of the study, which it will seek to achieve by analyzing the various dimensions of the social networking phenomenon, exploring its prospects, and providing an outline of how change may occur in various fields as a result.
