MARGERY, WHO WAS THE WIFE OF JOHN LONGE, ESQUIRE

1. Writ: 13 May 1483 [13 May 1 Ed V]. Skypton. [Dorse]: executed by John Veere, esquire, escheator. Berkshire. Inquisition indented. Hungerford. 1 June 1483 [1 June 1 Ed V].

Escheator: John Veere, esquire.

Jurors: Henry Sturmy; John Togull; Ralph Serle; John Trewloue; William Jenyns;

Thomas Togull; William Bates[…]d; Thomas Chapman; William Audley; Christopher Ryder; John Kember; William Smyth; Thomas Tayllour.

She held ½ of the manor of Titcomb [Tytcombe] and Haslewick [Haselwyke] in demesne as of fee of the king in chief for service of 1/20 of a knight's fee.

The manor is worth £4 4s 4d yearly.

Date of death: 2 February 1483. [2 February 22 Ed IV].

Thomas Longe, her son and heir, is aged 30 and more.

The escheator and jurors have sealed the inquisition.

She was not seised of any manors, lands or tenements in demesne as of fee or in any other estate and she held nothing of the king or any other in demesne or in service.

Date of death: 2 February 1483. [2 February last].
