Summary

This chapter traces the history of the market engineers that joined the London Stock Exchange in the late 1960s to transform the organization. By placing emphasis on their relative invisibility within the organization, the chapter highlights the role of these cadres of workers in transforming the technologies of the marketplace from settlement to trading.
