Summary

These face-to-face interviews were collected by Margaret Wetherell in the mid-1980s in New Zealand, as part of a joint project on discourse and racism conducted by Margaret Wetherell and Jonathan Potter (for further details of the method and analysis, see Wetherell, M., and Potter, J. 1992. Mapping the language of racism. London: Harvester Wheatsheaf).Wetherell and Potter would like to acknowledge financial support from the UK Economic and Social Research Council for the original transcription and to thank the participants for giving up their time to this project.

The interviews were retranscribed for the current project by Barbara Fehr and Marjon Vos van der Born. Edits have been made to the transcripts to remove personal details that could compromise the anonymity of the participants. Please note that no part of these interviews should be copied or used for any purpose without prior permission from Professor Margaret Wetherell, Social Sciences, Open University, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes.
