Summary

Counter-roll of Robert of Hillam, controller of the king's works at the palace of Westminster and the Tower of London, for his expenditure on building works in St Stephen's chapel.

Physical description: A roll of four membranes sewn end-to-end, together with two schedules sewn to the front of m. 1 (see Scope of transcription); in good condition and wholly legible. Additional heading on m. 1d, acting as a label when the roll is rolled up.

Scope of transcription: Transcribed in full, except for m. 1, sch. 1 (which relates only to expenditure elsewhere in the palace) and m. 1, sch. 2 (which relates only to expenditure at the Tower), both of which have been omitted.
