Summary

A 65-year-old man woke up with new onset vertigo, headache and nausea. He vomited later that day. He had a pressure feeling in his ears. The headache improved on lying down. He had no history of trauma. He was admitted to hospital where a CT brain scan was reported as showing bilateral subdural collections including evidence of haemorrhage (Figure 10.1A). After the medical team had sought neurosurgical advice, conservative management was advised and he was discharged.
