Depression is common in Huntington's disease. It is customary to treat such patients with tricyclic antidepressants, although there is disagreement about their effectiveness. The use of monomine oxidase inhibitors for depression in HD has not previously been reported; three cases are described here. MAOIs appear to be of value in the management of depression in HD.

A young male castrated himself in response to the biblical passage, Matthew 19:12. Although extremely rare, autocastration usually occurs in men with chronic paranoid schizophrenia, with a long history of delusions of sexual guilt which can only be relieved by castration. Management of these patients is long-term, involving both pharmacotherapy and individual and family therapy.

This is the first reported case of anorexia nervosa in association with Klinefelter's syndrome. Although the patient was initially diagnosed as suffering from ‘atypical’ anorexia nervosa, Klinefelter's syndrome was cytogenetically proven and other organic pathology ruled out.
