The traditional editorial note of this year begins with the changes in the editorial team. At the beginning of 2022 Blanca Sánchez Alonso stood down as Chief Editor of the Journal to be replaced by Mª Angeles Pons. We would like to thank Blanca for her excellent work over the last nine years. Sandra Kuntz and William Summerhill also stood down from their positions as co-editors last January 2022. We thank them for their time as co-editors. Anna Carreras kindly agreed to continue in her position as Associate Editor. Aurora Gómez Galvarriato and Henry Willebald accepted our proposal to join the team of editors. Their appointment was ratified by the RHE-JILAEH Board of Trustees at its annual meeting in January 2023. The support of the Associate Editor and the two co-editors has been an essential part of the journal's operation over the past year.

We present basic statistics and data concerning the evolution of the Journal in 2022. The RHE-JILAEH received 55 original research papers in 2022. Figure 1 presents the evolution since 2018.

The best news of the year 2022 was the publication of the Impact Factor index for the Revista de Historia Económica - Journal of Iberian and Latin American Economic History according to Journal Citation Report 2021. Our impact factor index increased from 1.242 to 1.8 and RHE-JILAEH jumped to number 4 in the ranking of journals in the “History of Social Sciences” category and 6 in the “History” category. This excellent news is thanks to the work of previous editors and members of the editorial board in recent years, as well as the extraordinary collaboration of the referees of the RHE-JILAEH whose names are listed at the end of this editorial note.
