Cambridge University Press and Assessment would like to apologise for an error in the above article (Flores et al, Reference Flores, González Castell and Datta Banik2024). The author, Luz Dinorah González-Castell’s name was presented incorrectly. The article has been corrected.

Also, in the abstract, the sentence ‘Data on age, height, socioeconomic level, and geographic area of 18,219 boys were obtained from the National Health and Nutrition Survey 2012 (ENSANUT) and ENSANUT 2018, carried out in 32 Mexican states’ contained an incorrect number of boys, it should have been, 25,365 boys.
