Publication process after acceptance

Funding open access

Multiple funding routes are available for Gold Open Access articles. Please see this journal's open access options for details.

Production

Once an article has been accepted, the process of copyediting, proofing, typesetting and publishing the article will begin. Authors will be asked to ensure all final files are submitted to ScholarOne before the article can be sent to Cambridge University Press for production.

Your point of contact with Cambridge University Press will be the content manager of the journal. For more information about how production works at Cambridge University Press, please see our information on publishing an accepted paper, which explains how an article goes from accepted manuscript to fully published. There may be small differences between journals with this process. You can also check our Journal Production FAQs.

Proofs

For all accepted articles, proofs will be presented as PDF files for the authors to correct. In the case of co-authored articles, the proofs will be sent to the first-named author, unless otherwise requested. Please inform the Editors of any relevant changes of email addresses occurring between the submission of the final version of the paper and the expected release of the proofs.

The proofs should be corrected within two days of receipt and returned immediately. Detailed proofing instructions will be found in the proof file.

Note that publication on FirstView is final and any after-the-fact essential corrections will have to be published as errata.

Final-version PDFs

Contributors will be supplied with a PDF file of their contribution upon FirstView publication.
