Eleni Chatzi and Kenichi Soga appointed as co-Editors-in-Chief of DCE
18 May 2022

We're delighted to announce that Eleni Chatzi (ETH Zürich) and Kenichi Soga (University of California, Berkeley) have joined Mark Girolami (University of Cambridge & Alan Turing Institute) as co-Editors-in-Chief of the Data-Centric Engineering journal at Cambridge University Press.

The DCE Journal launched in 2020, with the support of the Lloyd's Register Foundation, as a dedicated and open-access venue for research and translational papers exploring the transformational potential and impact of data science for all areas of engineering. Mark Girolami, Editor-in-Chief, also founded DCE research programme at the Alan Turing Institute - where he is now Chief Scientist.

Eleni Chatzi is the Chair of Structural Mechanics, at the Institute of Structural Engineering, of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (DBAUG), ETH Zürich. She previously served on the DCE Advisory Board and recently gave a talk on ‘Robust Dynamical Systems Monitoring: Learning by Modeling’ as part of the DCE Webinar series (watch here).

Kenichi Soga - Donald H. McLaughlin Chair in Mineral Engineering in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of University of California, Berkeley - previously served as an Executive Editor for  DCE.

The new three Editor-in-Chief structure marks an exciting new phase for the DCE Journal, which was recently indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, as we look to expand into new networks and geographies as well as deliver on original ambitions.

We'd like to thank Eleni and Kenichi for taking on this new role, Mark for his continued service, the entire team of Editors and Advisors, and the authors and reviewers who have contributed to DCE.
