page 6 note * Since the above was written it has been pointed out to me that tam modo is not now proposed for the first time. Brix prints it in the text of his second edition (1870) as a correction doe to W. Wagner. But in my edition (the 4th—1884) he has gone back to iam diu. I can only hope that in a future edition Wagner's correction may be reinstated.
