Summary
Weigh out 50 mg Norit A acid-washed charcoal for each 1 ml plasma to be stripped in a 12 ml centrifuge tube.
To remove ‘fines’ in the charcoal, add about 5 ml of distilled water, vortex, centrifuge and remove supernatant with a Pasteur pipette.
Add plasma to the charcoal, vortex well, and incubate at 37 °C for 30 min.
Remove plasma with a Pasteur pipette to a clean tube and centrifuge again.
Remove plasma, as before, to an airtight container and store at -15 °C.
