  • Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Muḥammad al-Madāʾinī (d. 225/839–40), Fatḥ ʿAsqalān (The Conquest of Ascalon).

  • Abū Muḥammad al-Ḥasan Ibn Ādam al-ʿAsqalānī (d. 325/937?), Juzʾ fīhi Faḍl ʿAsqalān (A Chapter in Praise of Ascalon).

  • ʿAlī b. al-Ḥasan Ibn ʿAsākir (d. 571/1176), Faḍāʾil ʿAsqalān (The Merits of Ascalon).

  • Taqī al-Dīn ʿUthmān b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Ibn al-Ialāḥ al-Shahrazūrī (d. 643/1245), al-Aḥādīth fī Faḍl al-Iskandariyya wa-ʿAsqalān (Hadith on the Merit of Alexandria and Ascalon). Ms. 1389 in Berlin Stadtbibliotek (20 folios).

  • Anonymous, Faḍāʾil al-Shām wa-Faḍāʾil Mudunihā wa-Bayt al-Maqdis wa-ʿAsqalān wa-Ghazza wa-l-Ramla wa-Arīḥā wa-Nāblus wa-Baysān wa-Dimashq wa-Ḥumṣ wa-dhikr al-anbiyāʾ al-mashhūrīn fīhā wa-dhikr al-ṣḥāba al-madfūnīn fīhā (The Merits of Syria and its Towns Jerusalem, Ascalon, Gaza, Ramla, Jericho, Nablus, Beth-Sheʾan, Damascus and Homs, with the mention of its known Prophets and the Companion that were buried in the Land). Ms. Tubingen no. 26 (24 folios), copied in Damascus in 741/1340–1.
