Summary

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is an attempt to create a catalogue of organisational innovations that determine the maturity of the e-commerce business model. The conduct of a conceptual study will be preceded by an extensive analysis and systematisation of the current achievements in the field of management and quality sciences. This will be reflected in a set of organisational innovations identified in the subject literature that can constitute the basis for assessing maturity of the e-commerce model (theoretical level). The reconstruction and interpretation of the subject literature will be supported by practical experience of the authors, participant observation and creative discussion among deliberately chosen experts. This will allow to create a catalogue of organisational innovations relevant from the perspective of the e-commerce model maturity assessment (design level). The preparatory study determines the development of a form (model of organisational innovations) that will be a tool enabling reconnaissance in the practice of companies (proper study). It is about recognising which of the organisational innovations listed in the catalogue are crucial from the perspective of the e-commerce model maturity assessment (empirical level).

Keywords: innovation, organisational innovations, e-business, e-commerce, innovativeness

Introduction

The generation, adaptation and effective implementation of innovations constitute an essential component of strategic development of companies serving the construction of competitive advantages. Therefore, it is justified to show the activity in the field of searching for and recognising innovative solutions coming from the (internal and external) environment, in which organisations participate. It provides the opportunity to better deal with the occurring threats and, at the same time, to participate in the ongoing changes. The organisation's success is determined, in an increasing extent, by the ability of continuous work on improving the level of efficiency in connection with the development of human capital, the creation of a pro-innovative organisational culture and adjusting to the environment as part of putting focus on the most important objectives.

The issues of innovativeness, its connections and impact on the competitiveness of companies have been the object of intense deliberations of many researchers for decades.
