Summary

[], Acarias

Held of the abbey of St Albans in 1166. Perhaps the same as the priest Zachary who attested a charter of Abbot Geoffrey de Gorron. His son held the manor of Sarratt, which Abbot Robert de Gorron (Geoffrey's nephew) had given to his brother Ralph without the monks’ consent. He was perhaps father of Grace, wife of Peter II of Goldington, who had land at Sarratt in 1236-37; VCH Herts ii, 440.

Red Book of the Exchequer, ed. Hall (1897), pp. 359-60

The lady Agnes held two fees of Elias Giffard of Orcheston St George in 1166. This was represented in 1242/3 by either the two fees held by Godefrey Escudimor and Elyas de Kaylewey in Tytherton, or the two fees held by Thomas Daniel in Orcheston (Fees, 717).

Red Book of the Exchequer, ed. Hall (1897), p. 245

[], Ailmar

Englishman, occurs in the Domesday Lincolnshire Claims, where reference is made to his brothers, who were Grimbert and Thorfrothr, mentioned in the Domesday fief of Countess Judith. He was the Ailmar mentioned in the fee of Robert of Tosny and may have been the same as the antecessor of Archbishop Thomas.

Lincolnshire Claims (Domesday Book), fols 375a-d, 376d-77c

[], Ailsi

Englishman, occurs Domesday Lincolnshire and in the Claims.

Red Book of the Exchequer, ed. Hall (1897), p. 441
