Summary

The chemical wastes collected and packed in the central chemical storehouse have to be transferred on periodic terms to a waste treatment plant. Usually it takes place through the transfer of the waste to an off-site facility specialized in the waste treatment and disposal.

Choice of the waste transfer company

The crucial point at this stage is the choice of the proper waste treatment company. First of all, the selected waste management company must posses all the required permits as regards its functioning. Second, it should ensure a possibility of receiving as broad spectrum of wastes as possible at a price economically reasonable from the point of view of the waste holder. There are several waste treatment companies on the market but of ten times these companies posses permits for processing only the limited range of wastes or the charge for recovery and disposal of the extremely dangerous waste is exorbitantly high (usually in this case these companies act just as a go-between). As regards these conditions one must make every endeavour to be sure that the choice of the waste management company is actually a result of a full market analysis. It should be mentioned that the distance factor in Polish conditions is rather negligible since the costs of transportation are incommensurately low as compared to the costs of the treatment of the chemical wastes and packagings. Upon making selection of a few companies the terms of cooperation must be very precisely fixed.
