Summary

Focusing on the Open African Innovation Research (Open AIR), a unique cross-regional research partnership, the authors reflect on its policy ramifications, practical lessons, and limitations for not only advancing the sustainable development objective but also expanding an understanding of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in a context that is rarely broached.
