Hervey, bishop of Ely, gave the monks of Thorney the church of Witlesey on the day of the dedication of the church of Thorney; M. A. II, 605.

Grant by Henry II to the church of Thorney of the customs which the church of Ely has in its hundreds of Wicheford of the land and men of the said church in Wittelesei, as Hervey the first bishop of Ely granted the same when he dedicated the church of Thorney; Cal. of Chart. R. III, 244.
