Incorrect information on the entrustment of the type material to the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale ‘G. Doria’ (MSNG) was given in the Materials and Methods and Results sections of the publication listed above.

The type material was actually entrusted to the National Antarctic Museum (MNA) section of Genova and is included in its sponge collection under the following reference numbers:

Crella (crella) aurantiaca sp. nov.—holotype: [MNA 865].

Mycale (Aegogropila) denticulata sp. nov.—holotype: [MNA 888].

The authors apologise for the incorrect information.
