Call for papers for the Southeastern Women's Studies Association (SEWSA) meeting to be held at the University of South Florida, March 12–15, 1992. The planning committee invites proposals for papers, posters, workshops, and round table discussions in women's studies and related fields. Proposals should reflect the diversity of women in regard to race; class; ethnicity; age; physical, intellectual, and emotional impairment; nationality, and sexual identity. Proposals from both scholarly and community-based groups are welcome and may focus on research, theory, applied practice, policy and/or teaching approaches. Call for Papers for a session entitled Medieval Women/Medieval Philosophy for the 1992 Medieval Studies Congress to be held in Kalamazoo, MI. Of particular interest is work dealing with women's engagement with medieval philosophy as well as work on medieval philosophical positions about women. Work outside the mystical tradition is especially welcome, as is work on more scholastic elements in mystical authors. Call for Papers for a conference Color and Colorfulness in Nineteenth-Century Life and Art, sponsored by the Southeastern Nineteenth Century Studies Association to be held April 2–4, 1992 in Tampa, FL. SENSCA is an organization of scholars in music, art, architecture, photography, history, philosophy, literature, and related fields; it promotes interdisciplinary research and exchange and publishes the annual Nineteenth Century Studies. Submissions may concern any topic dealing with the use, representation, interpretation and conception of color in 19th Century art, literature and material culture (crafts, domestic and industrial design, costume, etc.), as well as with the theme of colorfulness, including the picturesque, the exotic, the bohemian and the eccentric, in individual and group life styles, race and gender relations and social attitudes. Also welcome are proposals concerning the lack of color—conformity, camouflage, evasiveness and subterfuge—and with the creation of secret and private colorful lives. Particularly encouraged are comparative studies of European and American relations and influences. Proposals for 20 minute papers should be accompanied by three-sentence abstracts. Call for papers for a special double issue of Pre/Text: A Journal of Rhetorical Theory on lesbian and gay rhetoric. Call for Papers. Articles are invited for a proposed anthology of theoretical explorations in the area of feminism and animal rights. We are looking for new articles that extend our thinking about this complex issue.
