* The ‘Verdrangte Musik’ series was commissioned by musica nanimaia – a promoting organization dedicated to the rediscovery of composers persecuted by National Socialism and their works, under the general editorship of Hans-Günter Klein. Other books in the series, not submitted for review, include two further volumes on Ullmann, one each on Gideon Klein and Pavel Haas, a collection of writings by Erwin Schulhoff, and (forthcoming this summer) the papers of a Schulhoff conference held in Diisseldorff in May 1994.
