Dado que el español es un idioma del movimiento de la Cruz Roja y, por haber recibido de España y de América Latina numerosas solicitudes en este sentido, el CICR ha decidido sustituir el suplemento por una revista, de la cual éste es el primer número, que seguirá apareciendo mensualmente.
