Comunidades mercantiles en conflicto en los estrechos de Taiwán (1624–1684)

Abstract

This article studies in a single conceptual framework the complex game performed by the different historical dynamics in the Taiwan insular area between 1624 –the time of the Dutch conquest of southwest Taiwan– and 1686 –the date of Taiwan's absorption into the Manchu Qing Empire, as a Fujian prefecture. It pays specific attention to the mercantile conflicts between Chinese Diaspora communities in concurrence with the Dutch and Iberians.

Resumen

Este artículo analiza en un solo marco conceptual las diferentes dinámicas históricas concurrentes en el ámbito insular de Taiwán entre 1624 –fecha de llegada a la isla de los holandeses– y 1684 –fecha de incorporación efectiva de Taiwán al imperio manchú de los Qing como prefectura de la provincia de Fujian–, dedicando una atención especial a las dinámicas mercantiles en conflicto entre las comunidades de la diáspora china y los intereses europeos en competencia ibéricos y holandeses.
