PROGRAM SCHEDULE

The annual meeting program is also available online. Times are subject to change.

TLC AT APSA

The second TLC at APSA (Teaching and Learning Conference at APSA) will take place Saturday, August 31, 2019 as part of the 2019 Annual Meeting. This full-day event seeks to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning and enhance the role of teaching in the discipline of political science. Last year’s inaugural event drew over 225 participants and featured a variety of workshops, teaching cafés, and track panels. This year’s conference theme is “Political Science Education in the Time of Resurgent Populism and Privilege” and features four tracks focused on Civic Engagement Education, Simulations & Games, Technology & Innovative Pedagogy in the Classroom, and Diversity & Inclusion. Register for the event when registering for the broader Annual Meeting.

PRECONFERENCE SHORT COURSES

Consider taking a short course. Short courses will take place prior to the annual meeting on Wednesday, August 28. They provide diverse opportunities, either half day or full day, for professional development and offer attendees the chance to connect with scholars from a range of backgrounds. They are sponsored by APSA Organized Sections and other affiliated organizations. Register for a short course when registering for the broader Annual Meeting! Note: all short course participants must also be registered for the APSA Annual Meeting.

2019 IPOSTERS

Consider attending an iPoster session during the meeting. With interactive features such as the ability to zoom in on graphics and images, and include video and audio clips, APSA believes iPosters create a much more enriched experience for poster authors and attendees alike. In addition to viewing posters onsite at the conference, APSA attendees and members will be able to view annual meeting posters pre- and post-conference via an online gallery, providing a much wider window of engagement for authors to receive feedback, and a convenient way for APSA colleagues to share feedback or find opportunities for collaboration.
