PANELS AND MORE

The Annual Meeting features four days of panels, roundtables, and special events for scholars to present, learn, and network.Interact with colleagues at the opening reception or join APSA in celebrating outstanding achievements at the Awards Ceremony. Delve more deeply into topics with a short course on Wednesday or meet attendees with shared interests by participating in a working group. Along with special events and networking, the APSA Annual Meeting provides attendees with worthwhile services such as the eJobs placement service for on-site interviews and an exhibit hall hosting publishers, think tanks, classroom technology, software companies, and more.

In keeping with the theme, the American Political Science Association has several new digital innovations for the 2014 Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting will feature an opt-in for the program book, and, for those who opt-out, an electronic PDF copy of the program will be available for view on electronic devices. The popular mobile app will also return, in addition to virtual posters within the poster sessions. The annual meeting will also feature live video streaming of some of the main events, sponsored by Cambridge University Press.

SHORT COURSES

Each year, on the Wednesday prior to the start of the Annual Meeting, APSA hosts short courses, half- or full-day sessions that provide opportunities for meeting attendees to enhance knowledge and reinvigorate teaching or research skills. Registered attendees can review short course details online under their MyAPSA account as well as register in advance for these sessions.

WORKING GROUPS

Consider joining a Working Group during the meeting. Working Groups consist of small groups of scholars who convene throughout the meeting to discuss a common topic or subfield. Group members draw on the rich content of the Annual Meeting by agreeing to attend a specified set of panels and meeting afterwards to discuss the emerging themes. Working groups can enrich member participation by creating a community and networking experience.
