associate professor of political science and Manger Professor of International Relations at Beloit College, where she received the 1999 Underkofler Excellence in Teaching Award. She is also the recipient of the 2001 Rowman and Littlefield Award for Innovative Teaching in Political Science. The chair of the interdisciplinary International Relations major, she teaches courses on the Middle East, Africa, nationalism and ethnic conflict, human rights, and the United Nations.
