Synopsis

The results of eight days' recording and collecting of lichens on the island of Colonsay are presented. A wide range of habitats were studied but particular attention was paid to the two relict oak-woodlands and some areas of calcareous machair. An impressive total of 342 lichen taxa was recorded, and two species were added to the British flora.
