2016 will be a special year for those using powder diffraction instruments, analysis methods, and reference data. Three particularly noteworthy anniversaries in 2016 to reflect upon are:

  • • The 30th year for the journal Powder Diffraction journal (PDJ).

  • • The 75th year for the International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD).

  • • 65th Anniversary of the Denver X-ray Conference.

  • • The 100th year of the method known as powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD).
