Abstract

Diplocladium gregarium was described almost one hundred years ago, later transferred to Cylindrocladium, and finally excluded from this genus. It has recently been rediscovered from bark beetle galleries in the bark of Picea abies and Pinus sylvestris in Germany. The fungus is redescribed and a new genus is proposed to accommodate it.
